We are a Baptist Church in the Tarring neighbourhood of Worthing, just north of West Worthing Railway station. Our Services take place at 10:30am on Sundays with a mixture of traditional hymns accompanied by an organ or piano and contemporary worship music either via recording or, on Sundays we have enough musicians, a small band. This is because we believe that the church is for everyone and that people with different worship styles can worship together and be church together. Our Communion service is on the first Sunday in the month and everyone is welcome to join. There are no restrictions on who can take communion.
Messy Church in the afternoon at 16:00 on the second Sunday in the month. All volunteers are DBS checked.
The Coffee Bar is open weekdays from 10am to 3pm except on Fridays and Saturdays, when it closes at noon, though at the moment, we have not been able to open on all Saturdays. The coffee bar is a space for everyone to feel welcome and safe. We share all proceeds between the church and Superstar Arts, which is a charity that works with adults with learning disabilities and does amazing work right here in our premises.
Our church is inclusive. When we say that everyone is welcome, we mean just that. For this reason, the members and leaders have all agreed on the following statement:
“We promise to welcome, respect and love all people regardless of race, sex, language, ability, social standing and sexual orientation, including members of the LGBT+ community.”
All people in the statement above are welcome in our church to not only attend services, join homegroups and any events but also to become full members of the church according to their faith in Christ. This includes taking communion, experiencing baptism, opportunities for volunteering, partaking in voting and decision-making during meetings. Members of this church agree to welcome everyone with equal love, friendship and acceptance.
